About

Organic America was founded in September of 2014 and has been raising awareness about the inhumane practices of Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations, or CAFOs, ever since.  Our goal is to push more American's to support organic and sustainable practices.

Project

In 2013, Gabriela Barrera and her friend Lily Johnson created a model of a "Factory Farm" on Minecraft to simulate the environments that CAFO animals must live in every day of their lives.  Click on "More" to watch the video.

The best way to get involved is to support your local Farmer's Market.  Farmer's Markets source their good from the surrounding area, promoting the practice of envinromental sustainability by decreasing transportation costs.  These market's also source produce and meats from organic farms that do not practice the inhumane techniques of CAFOs.
